Is Pineapple Low FODMAP?

Low FODMAP

Yes. Pineapple is low FODMAP in typical servings.

Main FODMAPs: None in typical servings

Why

Pineapple has balanced fructose and glucose and no significant polyols, so a normal serving is generally well tolerated. Fresh or canned in juice both work, though canned pineapple in sugary syrup is less ideal.

Good to know

  • Pineapple juice is concentrated, so keep glasses small.
  • Dried pineapple is much more concentrated.

Ways to use it

  • Use in place of mango
  • Add to smoothies and salsas
  • Grill slices as a dessert
