- Profile Information: Your username and any profile information you choose to provide.
1.2 Product and Usage Data
- Product Lists: Product names, categories, notes, FODMAP levels, and associated images you add to your lists.
- Photos: Images you upload or capture for FODMAP analysis are stored in Firebase Storage and retained until you delete them or your account.
- Barcode Data: Product barcodes you scan are stored to help you track products and may be sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve product information.
- Recipe Data: When you browse Low FODMAP recipes, results are temporarily cached in your device's memory during your session only. This data is not stored permanently and is cleared when you close the app.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used and actions taken.
1.3 Health and Symptom Data
- Symptom Tracking: Digestive symptoms, severity levels, suspected food triggers, and notes.
- Dietary Preferences: Your dietary restrictions and FODMAP sensitivity information.
- Insights Data: Patterns and correlations between foods consumed and symptoms experienced.
This health data is stored securely in encrypted databases and can be deleted at any time.
1.4 Device Information
- Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- App version and crash reports for diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's functionality
- Process and analyse food product images using AI technology
- Store and manage your personal product lists
- Authenticate your account and ensure security
- Respond to your support requests and communications
- Send important updates about the App (security alerts, policy changes)
- Analyse usage patterns to improve user experience
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
Your product lists are primarily stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. This data remains on your device and is not automatically synced to our servers unless you use cloud backup features.
3.2 Cloud Storage
- Account credentials are stored securely using Firebase Authentication
- Images uploaded for analysis may be temporarily stored on secure servers for processing
- We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission and storage
3.3 Data Retention
- Analysed images are retained temporarily (up to 24 hours) for processing purposes and then automatically deleted
- Account data is retained until you request deletion or delete your account
- Product lists stored locally remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
- Firebase (Google): Cloud database (Firestore), authentication, and cloud storage. Data stored in the United States.
- Apple Sign-In: Third-party authentication. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.
- Google Sign-In: Third-party authentication (OAuth 2.0). Google's Privacy Policy applies.
- Google Gemini AI: AI-powered image analysis. Images processed ephemerally on Google Cloud Platform.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and payment processing (United States).
- Open Food Facts: Barcode product data from a free, open database with an independent privacy policy.
- Spoonacular API: Low FODMAP recipe data. Requests are sent to Spoonacular to retrieve recipes and nutritional information. Recipe data is temporarily cached on your device during your session only. Spoonacular's Privacy Policy applies to data processed through their API.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to:
- Comply with legal processes
- Protect our rights, property, or safety
- Prevent fraud or security issues

5.1 Access and Control

5.2 Camera and Photo Permissions
The App requires camera and photo library access to function. You can manage these permissions in your device settings. Denying these permissions will limit the App's functionality.

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
7. International Data Transfers

- Firebase / Google: Authentication and cloud services
- Google Gemini AI: Image analysis and FODMAP detection
