Are Grapes Low FODMAP?

Low FODMAP

Yes, in modest servings. Grapes are low FODMAP, but very large servings can add up in fructose.

Main FODMAPs: None in modest servings

Why

Grapes have a balanced mix of fructose and glucose, so a small handful is generally tolerated. They are easy to overeat, though, and a very large bowl can push you over your limit.

Good to know

  • Raisins are far more concentrated, so only very small servings are likely to be tolerated.
  • Grape juice is concentrated, so portions matter.

Ways to use it

  • Use in place of apples, pears, or peaches
  • Pair with hard cheese
  • Freeze for a cold snack
