Are Eggs Low FODMAP?
Low FODMAP
Yes. Eggs contain no FODMAPs.
Main FODMAPs: None
Why
FODMAPs are carbohydrates, and eggs have virtually none, so they are a safe, filling protein. Boiled, scrambled, poached, and fried eggs are all fine on their own.
Good to know
- The risk is what you cook them with. Onion, garlic, mushrooms, and cheese-heavy fillings can change that.
- Use lactose-free milk if you add milk to scrambled eggs.
Ways to use it
- Top with green spring onion tops or chives
- Cook in garlic-infused oil
- Serve with potatoes or gluten-free toast
