Built by someone who lives with IBS
FODMAP Scanner started as a personal tool, made to answer one frustrating question: what can I actually eat?
Why I built it
I have IBS. When I first learned that certain foods could be the cause of my symptoms, I found it hard to work out what was safe to eat. Ingredient lists are long, many ingredients have unfamiliar names, and a food that looks harmless can contain onion powder, inulin or a sweetener that causes trouble.
I am an independent app developer, and I already had apps published on the App Store and Google Play. So I built the tool I wished I had: an app that reads the label for me and tells me in seconds whether a food is likely to be a problem.
What the app does
You can scan a barcode, photograph an ingredient list, or search for a food by name. FODMAP Scanner analyzes the ingredients against published low FODMAP research and shows a clear result, with notes on why. It also includes a Reintroduction Helper for testing one FODMAP group at a time, and a symptom tracker to help you spot patterns.
This website follows the same idea. The food guide answers common questions such as whether a single food is low FODMAP, and the blog explains the diet in plain language. Our FAQ covers pricing, accuracy and how your data is handled.
What it is not
I am not a doctor or a dietitian, and FODMAP Scanner is not a medical product. It is a guide to make everyday food choices easier. A low FODMAP diet works best with the support of a healthcare professional, especially during the elimination and reintroduction phases.
Get in touch
FODMAP Scanner is made by RM Digital Enterprise LLC in Florida, United States. Feedback from people who use it shapes what I build next, so I would like to hear what works and what does not. Email support@fodmapscanner.app or use the contact form.
